Accessibility assessment

Object description

The museum is located in the Gewerkenegg Castle and is not accessible. There are no accessible parking spots near the building. The entrance to the ticket office is in the passage to the castle atrium. The entrance has high, unmarked steps preventing access to wheelchair users. There is a small exhibition area next to the ticket office. The atrium also leads to the non-accessible sanitary facilities and the Nikolaj Pirnat Exhibition Centre through separate entrances. Access to them is only possible via stairs. There is a circular route leading through the museum. The interior has a number of high steps and numerous staircases. The edges rarely have contrasting visual markings. The Mercury tower at the bottom of the stairs features a dangerous layout as the stairs run out on unlevel floor. The museum offers the possibility of an audio guide and a smartphone application.
