Object description

The library is partially accessible. The library spaces with a library counter are located on the ground floor. Access to the building without changes of level is provided through the side entrance at the back of the building, directly next to the accessible parking spot. The doorbell next to the entrance is inaccessible and difficult to see due to the railing. The accessible sanitary facilities and the hall are located on the ground floor, but access for wheelchair users is only possible through a very long uncovered outside ramp on the other side of the building. Access to the basement is outside the building and is only possible via the stairs. The building does not have a lift.

Adaptations

12. The reception desk is adequately lit and enables lip-reading and interpreting facial expressions,
13. The spaces have adequate sound insulation.

Deficiencies

1. People with mobility impairments:
2. The accessible side entrance is not designated,
3. The gradient of the outside ramp to the basement level (hall, accessible sanitary facilities) is inadequate and too long,
4. The building does not have a lift,
5. Moving between the ground floor and basement levels is only possible from the outside.
6. People with visual impairments:
7. The glazed glass doors do not have contrasting visual markings,
8. The edges of stairs do not have contrasting visual markings.
9. People with hearing impairments:
10. The hall and reception desk are not equipped with an induction loop.
