Object description

The Laško Tourist Information centre is poorly accessible. The main entrance has external stairs, while the side entrance from the back of the building has an accessible ramp. Both access points have surfaces paved with poorly maintained granite cubes, constituting a safety risk when walking. The TIC also has a shop and multipurpose space for events or workshops. The basement has sanitary facilities, but these are not accessible due to the stairs.

Rooms for guests on the first floor are only accessible via stairs.

Adaptations

1. People with mobility impairments:
2. There is an accessible parking spot near the entrance as part of city parking,
3. There is a sign for the accessible side entrance for people with mobility impairments,
4. The side entrance is adapted for wheelchairs,
5. The ramp is properly constructed and enables independent use,
6. There is sufficient room to manoeuvre indoors.
7. People with visual impairments:
8. There are no abrupt transitions from light to dark spaces in the building,
9. Selected exhibited items (model of the city) enable tactile exploration of the exhibition material.
10. People with hearing impairments:
11. The reception desk is adequately lit and enables lip-reading and interpreting facial expressions.

Deficiencies

2. The ramp is not adequately secured,
3. The height of the reception desk is partly adapted to wheelchair users,
4. The changes of level in the interior to the first floor are not adequately addressed (access to rooms),
5. The TIC does not have a lift,
6. The TIC does not have accessible sanitary facilities,
7. The TIC does not feature bedrooms accommodating wheelchair users.
8. People with visual impairments:
9. The edges of stairs do not have contrasting visual markings.
10. People with hearing impairments:
11. The information counter is not equipped with an induction loop,
12. The information counter is positioned with windows behind it.
