Accessibility assessment

Object description

The museum is partially accessible. The building is one of several locations of the Krško City Museum. This part of the city museum has been established in an old manor with a central atrium into which a glass extension was added after the renovation with a staircase and an elevator. The entrance and reception are accessible by stairs; the accessible side entrance for wheelchair users is from the river side, but it is not marked. There are stairs in the atrium and the building does not have contrasting visual markings, which constitutes a safety hazard in certain areas. The museum has been renovated. Most of the changes of level can be overcome by using the elevator, but not all parts of the museum are accessible to wheelchair users. Selected exhibited items enable tactile exploration. The building has accessible toilet room for wheelchair users.

Adaptations

  1. People with mobility impairments:
  2. There is an accessible parking spot near the entrance,

  9. The lift buttons have raised tactile letters.

  8. The glass doors of the extension in the atrium do not have contrasting markings,
  9. The reception desk is not located in the immediate vicinity of the entrance,
  10. The path to the remote reception desk is not marked with tactile floor markings,
  11. There are abrupt transitions from light to dark spaces in the building,
  12. The edges of stairs do not have contrasting visual markings,
  13. The edges of the changes of level do not have contrasting visual markings,
