Object description

The facility is partially accessible. A wide and low staircase leads to the main entrance. At the side entrance, which is located on the other side of the building, there is a 117 cm wide ramp. The building has a fitness area, a sports hall and an indoor swimming pool, which are located along the long corridor that connects the two entrances. The path to the indoor pool is barrier-free. Adjacent to the pool there is an accessible sanitary facility. The sanitary facilities and shower cabins at the fitness centre are not adapted. Seats for wheelchair users are not guaranteed in the stands in the sports hall. The facility also has a separate cloakroom for people with mobility impairments. There is also an outdoor swimming pool near the facility, which is adapted for people with mobility impairments with ramps.

Adaptations

2. There is an adapted parking space near the entrance,
3. The side entrance is (partly) adapted for wheelchairs (the ramp at the entrance is too narrow),
4. The changes of level in the interior of the building are adequately addressed,
5. There is sufficient room to manoeuvre indoors,
6. Adapted sanitary facilities are available next to indoor pool,
7. Access to the indoor pool is via ramp that leads into the pool,
8. Access to the outdoor pool is regulated by ramps.
9. People with visual impairments:
10. The entrance to the building is clearly recognizable,
11. The signboard at the main entrance is suitable,
12. The glass doors have contrasting visual markings,
13. The reception desk is located in the immediate vicinity of the entrance,
14. The signage and lettering in the building are placed at suitable heights.
15. People with hearing impairments:
16. The reception desk (in the fitness centre) is adequately lit and enables lip-reading and interpreting facial expressions.

Deficiencies

1. People with mobility impairments:
2. The building main entrance is not accessible (due to stairs).
3. The accessible side entrance is not designated,
4. The ramp at the side entrance does not have the appropriate width,
5. The height of the reception desk (at the main entrance, in the fitness centre and in the indoor pool) is not adapted to wheelchair users,
6. The changes of level in the interior of the building are not adequately addressed (only in the sports hall),
7. The sport hall does not provide a designated area for wheelchair users.
8. People with visual impairments:
9. The window of the reception desk does not have contrasting visual markings.
10. People with hearing impairments:
11. The reception desk glazing at the main entrance is reflective and glaring.
